Understanding your priority

As your baby relies on you as his primary source of food and comfort, make sure you spend as much time as possible with your toddler. Start delegating your daily work, as it will be impossible to find your replacement. The only thing that should be on your mind is taking care of your new born. Everything else can wait.

  1. Stop controlling every aspect of the situation:

You simply cannot expect your house to be clean and tidy all the time. Accept the fact that some areas will seem a bit messy than usual which is ok. You can always go and fix it later when you get time. We understand that most of you prefer home cooked meal, but with a baby around to take care, you won’t be left with enough energy to cook, so ordering food is the best option.

  1. Assigning tasks:

If you decide to cook, let your husband do the rest, don’t underestimate his abilities to clean or do the groceries. Ask your kids to tidy up their rooms. This will save you plenty of time.

  1. Indentifying the longest nap:

Your new born might be having plenty of short naps throughout the day. But among those, there might be one such nap where you will find your baby sleeping longer than usual. That is probably the best time to take care of your household work. This will also give you a sense of accomplishment considering the give circumstances.
